The Well-Being of Men Matters.

Mettlement exists to raise awareness that men also experience abuse and violence.

We wish to provide information and a space of acceptance for men and their supportive partners & family; and while addressing abuse and violence is the main focus of this page, mental health and other topics that may equip men with healthy solutions and recommendations in life will be covered every now and then.

If we succeed in our vision, men will have a central location on the internet to find the support and resources they need in order to rebuild their lives during and/or after escaping abusive relationships and domestic violence. Men will be empowered to have happy and healthy lives.

Jean

Jean

Jean is a nurse by profession and cares about humanity. She is concerned about the well-being of men and their partners & family, despising injustice.

Her original vision for Mettlement was a site which might encourage readers to research practical information, ideas, thoughts, inspirational quotes, and amusing memes; a haven away from toxicity and abusive people.

Jean loves music, movies, and books, listens to podcasts, and relies on coffee on a daily basis. A medium-rare steak with a bit of melted butter on top is her lifeblood.

Joe

Joe

Joe is a designer, illustrator, and writer. Like Jean, Joe came to notice the deficiency in support for men struggling with abuse in domestic contexts.

In his own personal encounter with the issue, Joe had found a severe lack in constructive material to inform and bolster men in solving all the interweaving and complicated hardships of climbing out of the pit of abuse and rising to something better.

Deep in the thick of it, one can feel so alone and withered and confused. In one of Joe’s favorite book passages, when pondering the seeming futility of helping others on a large scale, one character suggests “deal[ing] with whatever misery is in front of you—and the little bit of good that you do adds its light to the sum of light.” With Mettlement, Joe wishes to light one more small spark in the dark.
